Young moved from North Carolina to Los Angeles landing the roles as Cathy Metsker in Randall Wallace The film We Were Soldiers with Mel Gibson Madeleine Stowe & Greg Kinnear and Rachel for JJ Abrams Mission Impossible: 3 with Tom Cruise and Keri Russell. Young dropped her debut album Far Away So Close in iTunes' iTunes store on 15 May 2015. Young was a part of Megan Griffiths' crime drama The Night Stalker, about serial killer Richard Ramirez. Following that, she starred in a supporting role in the independent comedy movie Bernard and Huey opposite Jim Rash and David Koechner. The actress co-starred with Disney's live-action adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time in 2018 along with Reese Witherspoon, as well as Mindy Kaling.
