With her parents, she moved to Australia in the age of six. Thompson completed her high school in the year 2005, and traveled for five years across the globe after graduating, relocated to New York for a modeling career. She married the actor Jerry Doyle, in 1995. Al Doyle was their child. The couple split in 1997.
